GERAINT CHINNOCK

Production Manager

 

After graduating and working in the Department of Theatre, Film and Television at Aberystwyth University, Geraint returned home to Ynysybwl to work at his old school Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen and The Lifelong Learning Centre at Gartholwg as their Theatre Technician.

 

In 2008 he decided to pursue his career as a Freelance Stage Manager. He has worked with numerous theatre companies including Cwmni Rhosys Cochion, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Arad Goch, Wales Theatre Company, Cwmni Martyn Geraint, Downtown Productions, National Theatre Wales and the National Eisteddfod.

 

Geraint also toured America with Black Mountain Male Voice Choir as a chorister and Stage Manager.

 

Geraint began working with Theatr na nÓg in the Spring of 2011 as a Stage Manager but quickly progressed to become the Company's full time Production Manager in 2012. Since then, he has production managed all of their productions including "TOM A Story of Tom Jones A Musical" (UK No 1 Tour 2016), 'Rosie's War" (Dylan Thomas Theatre), "Halt! Who goes there?" (Dylan Thomas Theatre), "The Ghost of Morfa Colliery" (Dylan Thomas Theatre), "You Should Ask Of Wallace "(Schools and international tour), "We Need Bees"(UK tour), "The Amazing Adventures of Wallace and Bates (School's tour) "The Ghost of Morfa Colliery" (Dylan Thomas Theatre) and "The Arandora Star" (UK Tour).

 

In 2013 he production managed The Gardyne Theatre's workshop and production of 'Jackie the Musical' in Dundee and in 2015, tutored Stage Management at University of Wales Trinity and St David's in Carmarthen.

 

Geraint now lives in Cardiff where he enjoys singing with Bechgyn Bro Taf and hiking up mountains when he gets the chance.
